Notification from Mindef
Notification from Mindef
Just picked up a recorded call from the home line. And the message stated that the notification was from Mindef and requested me to enter my NRIC no., so naturally, since it's Mindef, I entered Piggy's NRIC no. And then, the recorded voice stated that it was to inform Piggy of his unit ops manning period next yr!! After that, I even had to press "1" to acknowledge that Piggy had listened to the message! So funny...I thought they should have done that to a personal handphone number and not to a home line. After all, many people stay in one home. It really sounds ridiculous when you pick up the phone, cuz it doesn't even state who the message is for (e.g. it should have mentioned it was for operationally-ready NS men or something). Instead, it blared off by saying that "this is a message from mindef. To listen to the message, pls enter your NRIC no.". Think I should have entered my NRIC no to see what the result was!
Anyway, my cuckoo piggy exclaimed yesterday that all my wishes were so expensive. I really find it so funny. Cuz he said I indicated under my profile description that I was blissfully married to him and:
1) wanted to have many babies
2) wanted a nice and cosy home
3) wanted to travel all over the world
But all these are dreams and everyone has dreams, dun tell me you dun? And dreams are meant to be unrealistic, otherwise they won't be dreams, if they were so easily attainable...haha..

Angry over injustice done
My MIL told me that my BIL heard from the HR Manager that Piggy's boss actually only recommended 3 Thais for the recent bonus they had gotten, and did not mention Piggy's name at all. Felt really infuriated knowing this, cuz his stupid boss had made him travel so frequently and worked such ridiculous hours while he himself knows how to go back to Thailand every month just because his family is there. And to think, Piggy tried his best to negotiate prices with the Taiwan vendors, when he could actually not bother at all, since it's not his money but the company's money! It was not until his IT director mentioned that they had forgotten him that he was taken into consideration.
Then about the small increment that they had for the following year, it was a standard 10% across board, but his cousin actually told the director that 5% for Piggy was enough. What the heck man! I really feel quite angry for Piggy. It just goes to prove that all along, all my vents and frustrations about his job were well justified.
It's really a good thing that he has already tendered his resignation. Knowing about such things after you tender really makes you feel like your resignation was well worth it. They think Piggy is stupid or what.. it's not like his pay was damn high or anything. Just felt that they are like manipulating him and making him do alot of extra work, which also entails responsibility if anything goes wrong. And the last thing they have on their minds is rewarding him!
And to think Piggy was always so careful about all his claims and was responsible in what he did, travelling to wherever place at their beck and calling. Just feel angry thinking about it. Piggy is not some dumb ass who hasn't been to school and know naughts about IT unlike some of the unprofessional people they employed, who does not even know how to use a computer. Imagine employing such a person to work in an office. And how about those that report for work only 2 weeks in a month, but get a whole month of ridiculously high salary, while holding on to their sideline somewhere else?
I really feel that their practices are totally messy, without any SOP or system. Glad that Piggy finally saw through all the deception.

Eve's Birthday
Met up with my uni friends to celebrate Eve's birthday at CA yesterday. Amazingly, Dave turned up as well. Thought he was too stressed to be doing anything else but work! Haha..was a short meetup but it was nice meeting up with them eveyr now and then..
Heard from Cyn that her company is encouraging staff to work from home! Her company actually reminds stuff to remember to work the stipulated no of hours from home and I think she said something like there was a penalty if you did not adhere to it or something. I really can't believe it. They are so lucky!! I m dying for the day where we would be allowed to work from home. That would be absolutely fantastic! Then no need to face horrible bosses you dun wish to see and you can still bask in the comfort of your own home!
Hope to meet up with Cel soon too..she is like 7 mths preggie I think..so lucky! And to think she didn't want a baby from the start! Then I know Poodie will say "the more you want it, the more you won't get it"...hmm..I really dunno, but I do believe that if you earnestly ask God for something, he will bless you with that something.
Now Piggy & I are all excited about our house. It really feels great, cracking our brains over what we want in the house, what design, what style, what colours, what furniture, etc..and I m so glad that we are doing it together! I know Piggy can't get to get everything up and going...me too! So excited!
And the happiest thing is of course the fact that Piggy has finally decided to come back to Spore for good and we can finally bid "sayonara" to Vietnam!! Had been looking forward to this day for such a long time! And I really thank God for letting Piggy see light!
