Marriott Wedding Show
Marriott Wedding Show
Attended the Marriott Wedding Show with Susan today...it was not too bad but I am still glad I chose Pan Pac cuz I think the Marriott Ballroom didn't look too special to me. Saw a wide array of gowns on display...here are some I found not too bad...

My Cousin's Wedding at the Zoo!!
Woke up at 8 am this morning, dressed up and proceeded to my cousin's place. Didn't eat much cuz all vegetarian food (reason being my cousin and her husband are vegans!). Spent my time there playing with my little nephews and niece, they are so so cuteee!!! Let me introduce them, starting from the youngest...
This is my 3-months old nephew, isn't he cute and chubby!? Look at his chubby cheeks, dun be deceived by his bundled-up clothes, he actually has a cute round tummy and dimples too, just like my little piggy...so adorable!!
Next, his elder sis, the sweet little angel, also with a dimple on her right cheek but not so obvious in the picture...
Finally, my 2 favourite nephews, Joel & Josh, who always like piggy to carry them..I especially love Joel, he is so adorable, like those precious moments characters, and he is quite well-behaved though sometimes very shy...Josh is the lively one, always running about and screaming at the top of his voice, but they are both very cute!!

Then came "Dressing Up Time"...you have seen the "before", let's see the "after" pics of all the little kids!!! This is Josh showing me his round tummy and colourful underwear...he is so funny sometimes!!
But wait....this is Josh all decked in shirt and bow-tie!! Heehee, doesn't he look smart??
Not forgetting little Joel, who is so busy eating strawberry after being fully dressed up that he stained his shirt!! He looks so innocent and simply irresistable!!
My cousin and her daughter, i.e. my niece, the sweet little angel...

The wedding was quite unique and interesting, the bride and groom even came riding on an elephant!!
The decor was also unique, with animal plush toys as favours! I chose a hippo cuz it reminds me of my little piggy, the big "hippo" (which is a nickname his niece, the "little hippo" gave to him!!)

So Cuteeee!!!!!

Such a cute & chubby baby!!! Hope I will have such a nice cute baby next time!!! I am looking forward to seeing my little nephews and nieces this Saturday at my cousin's wedding. Too bad piggy is not around, otherwise my nephews would surely love piggy to carry them cuz piggy has such big broad shoulders which are so nice and comfy that my nephew even fell asleep in his arms once..haha....but my nephews are not light anymore..the last time I saw them, 4-yr old Josh was 25 kg and little Joel was 13kg!!! Little piggy carried them till his arms ached the next day! heehee

Polar Bears are really cute...

Reminds me of piggy, hope I can see some real polar bears in these icy countries some day. I remembered I did see a few polar bears at the Singapore Zoo last year on my birthday when piggy & I visited the zoo. And one of the polar bears was even born on the same day as my dearest little piggy!!! Heehee... Think they are such nice, warm and cuddly animals....:) Here's another one ...

Somehow thinking of polar bears makes me feel happier...guess I can't keep polar bears at home but I like them..cuz they are all white and they look chubby with a round tummy& furry body..haha..

Feeling Down..
Feeling rather down and lonely today, maybe I have been staying at home too much. Last week, I felt rather tired cuz I went out almost every other day but this week, I am pretty stationary. Sometimes, it just gets tiring going out so often but yet when I dun go out at all, I feel so bored. Maybe I miss my piggy too much, miss spending time with him & talking to him...we do talk on the phone almost everyday but somehow our conversations are always very brief and well, it's certainly different cuz his presence is not here so guess at times when I need a listening ear or someone to be there, he isn't there. Ya, he comes back almost like once every month or so, but then the rest of the time, we are apart. Thinking of the weekends ahead, sometimes I feel quite miserable. It gets kind of tiring going out with different people all the time and I guess everyone is busy with their own lives too...so sometimes I turn to blogging but then when you blog, there is always a limit to what u can write about and anyway, blogging is merely just writing, it's nothing like talking to a real life person...
Maybe work has a part to play too.... I think maybe I really shouldn't complain about work so much but it just so happens that there is always something justifiable to "gripe" about. Just today, that Garfield almost made me vomit blood! As I mentioned yesterday, I helped her with the 10 folders that we despatched this morning. Then, this morning, I offered to help her file the remainder of the other 10 folders cuz she is on course and I was afraid that our submission would be delayed by that, but guess what? She told me she had not even photostated the 10 sets for the remaining 10 folders? And she had also not prepared the dividers for the folders! It's not difficult for me to just go and zap 10 sets of everything she has but precisely because it is not difficult, I wonder why she could not get it ready when our submission is already so late. I mean the clever way to do things would have been to zap 20 copies instead of the 10 copies she used for the 10 folders yesterday! Think her brain is really so dead that she can only think of what she needs to do that very day. I mean you are going to do the 20 folders within the 2 days anyway, why do you have to split up the zapping into 10 sets and 10 sets when the sorter in the photocopying machine could easily zap 20 sets and sort it out nicely for you?? Felt really frustrated with her, think she is really bird-brained or something!! I mean that's her job and now I have to help her do it, guess our department might as well do without her!!!

What Being Happy is All About...
Just came across this nice and meaningful precious moments picture so decided to post it here...it really struck me that "Being happy isn't always about having all your dreams come true but more so in being able to treasure and appreciate what you have."A peek at my bright pink evening gown...hope the final product would be nicer, without the ugly black lace...overall, I like the cut and colour, just hope that EB really can make it into something nicer.

Actually, my experience with them is okay so far, really hope it will continue this way. Feeling kind of wary after hearing about my friend from another bridal studio complaining about the poor attitude of the designer who told her that if she wanted more modern design, she could "go and wear bikini or something with a high slit"!! She was so damn pissed off that she decided to forfeit her $1000 deposit and look for another bridal studio! But luckily for her, she managed to get back 50% of the deposit (i.e. $500) after haggling with the boss!! What an unpleasant experience, makes me kinda scared hearing about it!!!
For me, my coordinator and the designer have so far been nice and accomodating towards my requests. But of course, I also try to be reasonable and not be overly-demanding. Looking forward to my first fitting in December, hopefully will see something nice. My photoshoot would be in Jan next yr, feel kinda excited..then piggy & I can pose and take lots of pictures..I like taking photos..heehee...& I am sure piggy would come up with a lot of funny poses..heehee..

Tired..

Just feeling very tired these few days, so haven't been updating my blog. Yes, it's my dreaded month, October..really hope this month will pass quickly. Quite pissed off with my boss and Garfield today. My boss for always making last minute changes and Garfield for her slownesss in getting things done..let me elaborate..
I absolutely hate it when my boss keeps making last minute changes when there is a very tight deadline to be met. It's just very troublesome to make those changes and it's especially irritating when the change is just one word and that word is a tense which to me doesn't make much of a difference, at least in this very case. I felt that sometimes it had to do with perspective more than anything, e.g. I had written something like 'A donkey was included in the published booklet." And my boss changed it to "A donkey is included in the published booklet." I was pretty much pissed off cuz to have to reprint and refile 20 copies of a paper because of this was stupid and killing even more trees!!! To me, "the donkey was included" because it was included at that point when the booklet was published, which is already over. So I tried to reason it out with my boss but his rationale is that since the donkey is currently shown in the published booklet, we should use present tense...that's why I said it has to do with perspective. It was not a big issue, really dun understand why he was so particular, guess he was just out to make life difficult for me!
Moving on to Garfield,...she either has a problem listening and digesting instructions given to her or she does not understand English totally!! Since last week, I had been telling her that she needed to start zapping papers for the 20 folders which we needed to despatch by this week but dunno what's wrong with her, up to yesterday, she only got 1 of the 20 folders done!!! When I asked her yesterday, I got the impression that she had already done up the 20 folders but I was shocked to discover at 6 pm today that she only did 1 folder the whole of yesterday!!! I was really quite pissed, how slow can a person get? I can be 101% sure that she is sleeping her time away at work. So never mind, since this was urgent, I offered to help her with the folders. But she was really so damn slow. In half the time she took to do one folder, I already did 2!! I really dun understand why her reactions are so slow and her movements so slow!!

Had a Great Time!
Met up with WJ, Cyn, Eve & Dave today at Bansbury to celebrate Cyn's Birthday! Haven't been there for ages...we were surprised that the place was so quiet on a Sunday afternoon...then we realised why....there was only 1 waitress taking orders for the entire restaurant!! And we thought she was pretty "poor thing", having to run here and there to tend to customers' needs.... so, naturally our food took a really long time to come..but well, it was might as well, cuz we, early birds had to wait for the latecomers as usual! heehee...Dave was the earliest followed by Cyn & I. Haha..I actually told Cyn as we were walking towards our meeting place that I believed that the 3 of us (including Dave) would be the earliest and all the rest would be late and she agreed with me! Haha..looks like we really understood our friends very well! There were supposed to be more of us gathering today, however HP & CC had something on last minute and ST couldn't come so there were only the 5 of us. But well, we had a great time, chatting & catching up and teasing Dave. As usual, he was the object of our teasing..haha..but then can't blame us lah, cuz he is always so enthusiastic in asking us to introduce gals to him and yet his standards are so high that we don't dare to introduce anyone to him. Want to know why? Cuz to him, some of those Japanese actresses who looked gorgeous to us gals are only "decent-looking" to him...so what happens to the rest of us man? Haha...so you get an idea of his definition of "really pretty"? Haha..
After our gathering, all of us went back cuz most had something on after that. Then I was chatting with Cyn on the way back and she was telling me about this guy friend of hers who has a girlfriend but once when this guy went clubbing with them (without his girlfriend), he brought another gal along and they were dancing together in quite an intimate manner, hugging each other and all. (To be exact, the gal hugged him 1st then he hugged back.) So naturally, they were quite angry with him, thinking how he could do this to his girlfriend. But sometime later, Cyn saw this guy & his girlfriend still together. So guess the girlfriend probably knew nothing of his "rendevous escapade". Honestly, hearing such things makes me feel very sorry for the girlfriend and also makes me wonder how far you can go about trusting someone sometimes. No doubt in this case, the guy wasn't the one who initiated it (but the bitchy gal) but then I would think the guy should have the good sense to know what's within limits and what's out of limits. Personally, fidelity is something I stand strongly by and I would expect that from my other half as well. And by fidelity, I dun mean it as in "so long as you dun DO IT with another person" but in addition to that, also respecting your other half totally and not doing anything you think your other half wouldn't like or something which you wouldn't want your other half to do to you as well. So, to me, fidelity also means being able to restrain yourself from flirting or fooling around (even if you are not serious about it as in Cyn's friend's case) cuz I feel that to do such things behind the other party's back is as good as cheating and being infidel to him/ her!! And I guess maybe this guy friend of hers could get away with it by keeping mum or telling a lie but wouldn't it be against his conscience to be untruthful??

Beautiful Sunday..
Waiting to go out to meet my uni friends at 1 pm. Feeling a little bored so thought I would update my blog. Wanted to wash car this morning but the weather was so unpredictable. Early this morning, it was raining, then it stopped. Then it started raining again as I was going off to wash car, and now it's bright & sunny!! Funny weather nowadays, I won't be surprised if it starts pouring in half an hour!!
Just to catch up on what I did over the last couple of days. Went for facial on Friday, decided to try Poodie's recommendation and well, it was a good experience! Though the location is kinda out (in Adelphi), the service was good and the facial lady, Jasmine, was really patient and detailed in her work. I really like her skin, so nice and white and her eyebrows are impeccable! Really felt quite safe to be in her hands and she gave me lots of good advice regarding skincare. She is also a rather chatty person and made me feel relaxed and at ease throughout the whole facial. Think I will probably continue with her. Only thing is I still have a facial package at V, which I have stopped temporarily cuz I felt that they rushed through their jobs when doing facial for me and also pressurised me me to buy things from them whereas Jasmine told me she does not advocate people using any particular brands (not even her own) cuz it's the person's choice and furthermore, there are so many different products out there, so she doesn't use hard-sell tactics, for which I am glad. Anyway, seeing her nice white skin is motivation enough for me, haha and she is already 39 years old but she looks so much better than MD who is only 35. Guess it's really important for women to 'baoyang" otherwise very fast look old and hagged...
Yesterday nite, went to piggy's house to eat pizza and watch dvd with susan and her friends. We watched "Deuce Bigalow", which was very funny, had a good laugh! Then, we watched "San Ge Hao Ren", which I had already watched before but nevertheless, it still made me laugh. The main character inside kept scolding "nabeh", reminds me of piggy, cuz he likes to scold "nabeh" too...haha..remembered last time when I first knew him, I didn't know what is the meaning of "nabeh", then I asked him and I think he also dunno how to explain, but I find it very funny that he uses it so often. It's really characteristic of him...Hahaha...

Breathing down my neck!! Can't Stand it!!!

This has been not too pleasant a day thus far..except for the fact that I had laksa for lunch and some nice mini sandwiches, courtesy of Poodie!
I was slightly early for work this morning and went with Poodie to have breakfast. When I came back, my boss asked if I was late again this morning. Reason being, I was about 10-15 minutes late yesterday morning cuz the expressway was damn bloody jammed due to 2 accidents on the ECP & AYE. Well, 15 minutes isn't exactly late to begin with when Garfield can come 45 minutes late sometimes and C used to come like 20 - 25 minutes late on average everyday. But then, since I really wasn't late this morning, I told my boss so and I even told him indignantly that I was early. I mean, if I am perpetually late, maybe you have a valid reason to screw me but on a mere few occasions, I dun think it's reason enough to question people!! I felt as though my boss was scrutinising my every move!! Really hate it!!
Another thing that really pissed me off was regarding this photography workshop we have going on now. There are actually 2 groups for this photography workshop, let's call them "Appealing" Group & "Bad-Taste" Group. The "Appealing" Group naturally comprised people I felt more comfortable with and were generally a younger crowd while the "Bad-Taste" Group comprised mainly irritating creatures like "Dustbin", "William Hung", "Witch Witchie", etc...so of course, I wanted to be part of the "Appealing" Group! But as fate would have it, my boss very "kindly" scheduled MD & I for the "Bad-Taste" Group and he also very tastefully put himself in the "Appealing" Group. But of course, as I badly didn't want to mix with the "Bad-Taste" Group, I swopped myself to the "Appealing" Group, probably much to the surprise of my boss, but I didn't care! I mean, what right did he have to dictate who I should mix around with?
But as fate would have it again, one of the outdoor sessions for the workshop fell on a day when my boss had arranged a sharing session with an external agency. And well, as you would expect, I have to forgo that particular outdoor session for this stupid sharing session!! I was greatly dismayed not to be able to go with Poodie and the rest and my disappointment was clearly registered on my face. But guess my boss was unmoved by it cuz he said I could always join the other group next week! What the heck! I was damn pissed and perhaps I showed my feelings a tad too clearly cuz my boss then asked me "Why? Got any problem with that?" to which I replied, "No but I preferred the "Appealing" Group." It's not like he left me with much of a choice...
Guess I must have been really pissed off this morning cuz everything that MD did or said just irritated me no end, dunno why I just can't help feeling that way. I really can't stand the way she tells me things sometimes, as in she doesn't go straight to the point but mumbles lots of rubbish before jumping into the main point. She does this so often that sometimes when I am really irritated, I just cut her off and asked her "What is it you want to tell me or want me to do?" I really can't stand her slowness, which is so obvious in everything she does. Another thing about her is that she is always so afraid of making decisions! Today, my boss asked her about the food we would be providing for the sharing session tmw cuz it was originally assigned to her. But as I was also arranging catering for something else, my boss asked me to arrange this together as well. However, it turned out that the catering company could not cater for the small number of people in the sharing session, so I had earlier discussed with MD and we both agreed that we could easily get the food from delifrance. So I really dun understand why she looked so lost and uncertain when my boss asked her and had to turn to ask me?! As if we didn't talk about it before, why can't she just tell my boss her views? I am not the overall decision maker anyway! So sometimes you see, it really pisses me off that she is such a "mouse"!
Anyway, just to update on the videographer I met up with the night before, think he is not too bad. A jolly and plump guy, who seems pretty easy going and approachable. Saw stome of his works, they seemed pretty ok to me. Guess I was attracted to his videography services only because he was willing to explore new ideas, willing to do something that is unconventional, out of the box and just different from the usual. But yet, everything is free play and entirely up to the couple. It could be about our love story, our house, our cars, something personal about us that will touch our friends and family when they see it, a movie of our own. I told the videographer to wait till my piggy is back cuz I would like piggy to have a look too.. & knowing piggy, I know he can come up with very creative and funny ideas!!
Another few weeks and my piggy would be back, really miss my piggy...miss his cuddly face, cute dimples and funny jokes....that's my dearest little piggy who never fails to "talk rubbish" & make me laugh..heehee..

Gowns, Gowns, Gowns
Went gown-chooing with susan today. Glad that it was an ok experience but I felt that they could have combined the meeting with the designer with the gown-trying today cuz it's quite a waste of time having to take another half day leave to meeet the designer next week! Today, I basically showed the coordinator what I liked, then she helped me pick out those which she though I would like. I tried on a number of gowns and finally narrowed down to two wedding gowns and 2 evening gowns which I really like. The coordinator then drew sketches of the gowns for me and arranged the meeting with the designer for me.
Didn't get much chance to tell piggy about my gowns. Sometimes I wish he was around to do things with me. It can get so tiring coordinating things sometimes, especially when he is not around. It would have been fun if he could have been with me when I tried on the gowns, if we could view the videographer's works together and if we could plan some things together. Sometimes, it gets kinda sad that I am doing all these alone, cuz I feel that the joy in planning a wedding is in doing things together, making decisions together...

Had a great and activity-packed day!
Woke up early this morning to wash Piggy's car...was good exercise, and thanks to susan, we got the job done in 1 hr! Then we headed for the Pan Pac Wedding Show! We were slightly delayed cuz the ECP was massively jammed, the cars were barely moving, inching forward little by little until we realised that there was an accident near Fort Rd. Apparently, a motorcylist had collided with a big lorry and when we drove past, we saw a body covered under white sheets...think it must have been a fatal accident...
Hmm...the Pan Pac Wedding Show was impressive man...at least much more than the Grand Copthorne one...maybe that's why we paid $38 instead of $22! We had a 5-course lunch, which was absolutely delicious...we had cold dish (the usual 1st dish at wedding dinners and this was special cuz there was sushi inside), sharks' fins (this was really good, the ingredients were genuine and you could really taste it, not those watery kind), roasted chicken, fried rice (special too cuz there was pork floss added to it and nice ingredients inside) and mango sago as dessert!! The good thing was that there were only 4 people in our table of 6, which meant that we could eat more than we could but of course, we didn't overeat too, but think that if piggy was there with us this afternoon, he would have been very happy, so much food to eat! There was also a wide array of wedding gowns being paraded, more than 60!! Had a great time and feel quite happy to have chosen Pan Pac, except that we didn't win the lucky draw!! Then we went up to view the bridal suite..I rather like the view of the surroundings as we took the glass elevator up!!
Also bought a pair of wedding bears from the show for only $16. The supplier said they usually sell it for $30 and the shops outside were carrying it for about $70!! Dunno if it was true, but thought it was a pretty good deal!!
Following that, went to Challenger at Tampines to help Piggy get the gaming mouse he wanted..was quite amazed, didn't know there are mouses specially for gaming! Bought piggy his long-awaited game (Dragonshard) too!! Hope he will enjoy playing it, I know he has been wanting to buy it for some time already..heehee..
Then we went to Carrefoure to shop with apple. She bought 2 cans of abalone for $180 ($90 each)!! Wow, I have never bought such expensive canned good in my life!! It must be some quality food!
We had another feast for dinner today..went to 'Qun Zhong' near to Chinatown..ordered Chinese pizza, 'tang pao', 'guo tie' and 'suan la mian'...it was yummy, wish piggy is here to share it with us, he will surely love it!!

Food Extravaganza Today!!
Today, I had a feast! 2 feasts to be exact...Went with piggy's dad, susan, willy & apple to eat the lunch buffet at Shangri-la...the variety was simply amazing! There were all sorts of food, from Italian to Japanese, to English, to Chinese to Indian!! And the spread of dessert was simply tantalising...all sorts of cakes, tarts, "kuehs", jellies, ice-cream and even chocolate fondue!! I think piggy would love it if he were here!! & he probably won't be able to stop eating!
Aftter that, went shopping with Apple to buy her stuff cuz she is leaving Singapore soon. She is really determined to loose weight, cuz she bought the 'Extrim-X' and Extrim slimming cream today!! It's supposed to burn fats 24 hrs a day, even when you are not exercising..so she is hoping that she will lose some weight in 1 month's time!!
The 2nd feast came at night when we went to eat the Taiwan Porridge near Kallang Stadium. We had steamed pomfret with those black sauce, beansprouts with salted fish, sweet& sour pork, pig trotters with salted vegetables and black-sauced pork with a big pot of pipping hot porridge! Feel hungry reading this, piggy? haha..Felt really full after that, think tomorrow cannot eat too much already!! haha..
I am looking forward to the Pan Pac wedding show tomorrow, hope it will be an eye-opener and a good experience since we have already signed up with them!

Poodie & Mikie's Very 1st Meeting..
Yes!!! The long-waited "matchmaking" session! Yesterday nite, Poodie met Mikie for the 1st time!
Poodie & I met WJ first and proceeded to this Jap restaurant at Bugis Junction. Shortly after, Mikie joined us. Ok..abit of description here...he is quite big sized but looked pleasant, not exactly the gorgeous kind or muscular kind as WJ had told Poodie beforehand but generally ok. Mikie appeared relaxed and seemed to be quite a nice guy & someone whom I supposed is Poodie's type. He could laugh and "strum" along to our tune..haha..However, Poodie felt that he wasn't really interested in her but I thought they made a great pair! Cuz they are both such 'outdoorsy' people! All the trekking, diving, mountain climbing, blading, etc....hmmm, I would have to probe abit more from WJ since Mikie would probably tell her how he felt about Poodie.haha...
Surprisingly, WJ's friend, K (whom I also knew from long ago) also joined us for a shortwhile, just to talk some rubbish before leaving to join his friends. Talking about K, actually I have known him since WJ's 21st birthday party and that was how I got to know him too. Guessed he hasn't changed after all thess years, still as 'buay ya' as ever! Guessed he never was my type of guy...to think he still says the same things after all this while!
