Fruitful Saturday
Fruitful Saturday
Woke up early to go to the dentist this morning cuz I wanted to be the first customer of the day. Reason being, the dentist had advised me that it was good to come during office hours (which I can't always do) otherwise, I would need to spend a long time waiting, like the first time I went there. He said the clinic was always busy and true enough, there was always someone waiting outside when I finished. So I thought, I would be the first one, then I wouldn't have to wait..and true enough, I was the very first one and I didn't have to wait. The dentist helped me replace the grey filling with the white one and now, my teeth looks much whiter..haha..feel quite happy about it and I guess Piggy would be pleased too cuz he is always 'complaining' that my teeth is too yellow...but each trip to the dentist is really expensive...think being a dentist really earns good money...
Then I went home, did some stuff and met up with SM at Orchard. It was really crowded, maybe because the Christmas lightings were up. Had a good time catching up with her. It's always interesting to hear abt the latest updates back where we were. She was feeling quite 'sian' cuz of the ill-treatment at work and also kinda lonely cuz her boyfriend is out of town for a month. And we both agreed that it's not always easy to get people to go out during weekends cuz most of our friends are attached and then those who are not attached always seemed to be the 'gym' or 'sports' crazy kind of person. Furthermore, it's not always nice to ask people out just because your other half is out of town. So sometimes, we just hang around at home, which can get extremely boring. Guess I can understand her feelings cuz I feel kinda lonely when Piggy is not around too.
Anyway, MY happened to message me cuz she was also feeling bored so SM & I proceeded to Starbucks and met her there. It felt really good to meet up with ex-colleagues again and I am glad that we still keep in touch after all this while...I always feel that it's sad that friends drift apart after a while and I am always grateful for my friends back at that dreaded place where we all used to work cuz somehow, maybe because of the nature of our job at that time, we were more closely-knitted.
Yesterday at Sakae Sushi, E asked Poodie if she still kept in touch with her ex-colleagues and she said 'no' although they used to be really close, cuz she said it takes 2 hands to clap and I do agree with that. Cuz I remembered that LT once told me that everyone is busy with their own lives but if no efforts is made to meet up, sooner or later friends will drift apart..I do hope that our friendships made here would not just come to naughts after we leave this place..
